"I feel really good about the ad we came up with even though it breaks with some of the conventional "wisdom" that I think about advertising.

It's very wordy and looks cluttered (with words!) but it will appeal to someone who is scouring through the yellow pages looking for a company in the internet services category... which curiously enough, is who the ad is supposed to attract.

In other words, it's going to turn off the people that it's not intended to attract, and will hopefully attract the people we want.

In all measurable ways, this ad is the most distilled and accurate representation of the essence if Emergence by Design.

For me the process has been very useful. If you had given me the assignment "David: put the essense of what you want to say about what it is that EbD should say to attract new clients into a rectangle that's 4 inches wide and 5 inches high" I would have been lost.

Having concrete goal (and deadline) really helped me focus all the abstract things you've been saying lo these many months."
